There has recently been an increased interest in end-of-life experiences (ELEs) humans,but ELEs non-human animals have not yet assessed. In this paper, wepresent findings from a study we performed to collect and analyze reports about remarkablebehavioral aspects of during their last phase life. After publicappeals which asked for animals, received numerousresponses pet owners. We were able group these into specificcategories, termed the goodbyes, visits, rally, retreating solitude,unusual premonitions death, somatic surprises, terminal lucidity andpotential near-death visions animals. present 43 case pertaining thesedifferent categories. Many them show striking similarities remarkable behavior reportedby dying people. This similarity between animal human might be signof common physiology underpinning such could also increase therecognition that share inner life similar humans all phasesof lead more respectful treatment pets, as well infarms, zoos, wild. However, our was preliminary character andonly first its kind, encourage further systematic research field. theSupplementary Material, publish 71 additional cases those who would like tostudy examples.
